Morning all! Sorry there has been no post for a couple of days but everything is back on schedule now. Today we have the last of the blind bags that I picked up in Songkhla. The first is Marvel 500 Hawkeye and the second is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Lucky Clover (Shamrock). Lets begin!
Marvel 500 Hawkeye
This is the second Marvel 500 blind bag I’ve opened so far and honestly, I still think they are a bit rubbish. The first figure we pulled was Falcon who was just as basic as this Hawkeye figure. I don’t know, maybe I would like these more if I pulled a decent character! My opinion on these Marvel 500 figures is just that they are really basic and could be so much better!
As with Falcon, the paint application is very basic. However I do prefer Hawkeye as he looks cooler and I like the black and purple paint more than the red and white of Falcon. Hawkeye is also posed better.
Hawkeye is a long standing Marvel character and member of the Avengers. As with most Marvel characters he has had many iterations and costumes over the years and it is unclear (to me at least) which version this is. This figure seems to be sitting somewhere between the classic look and the new Marvel Cinematic Universe Avengers look – probably a newer comic version of Hawkeye?
Hawkeye has never been a favorite character of mine and he never will be so I apologize if my Hawkeye knowledge is lacking! Hopefully we get some better pulls in future and that the later series figures look better!
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic – Lucky Clover (Shamrock)
He loves teamwork!
Disclaimer: I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MY LITTLE PONY.
Now that I made myself clear – Today we have Lucky Clover (or Shamrock as he is known in the TV show according to Wikipedia). He is a translucent purple stallion with a couple of clovers (shamrocks) tattooed on his hind quarters!
Honestly, these are some of the better figures I’ve opened on this blog. Despite my lack of interest in My Little Pony these figures are pretty decent and I can see why they are appealing to fans of the franchise. Lucky Clover is simple by design but at the same time the design stops him from looking as cheap as some other blind bag toys (looking at you, Marvel 500).
Clean, crisp and does the job! Look out for more of these in the future!
Bye for now!
