Back again with the Yo-Kai! This time we have a Yo-Kai Watch Medals ZERO Classic Vol.1 blind bag. I still think the Yo-Kai concept is really cool even if some of the Yo-Kai designs leave a bit to be desired. I opened a volume 3 blind bag previously and got some decent pulls however this time my luck wasn’t as good!

Yo-Kai Watch Medals ZERO Classic Vol.1
Today luck was not on my side as I only pulled 2 normal type medals. The Yo-Kai’s are also a little bit disappointing as I don’t find them particularly interesting. The red plastic for the medals does not look as good as the silver plastic in the volume 3 blind bag in my opinion. The Yo-Kai artwork is still good and the medals come across as good quality which is nice.
Medal one – Boyclops/Hitotsume-kozō of the Charming/Purichī tribe

Of the 2 medals pulled today, Boyclops if my favorite. Boyclops looks cool and is based off of the Hitotsume-kozō Yo-Kai of Japanese folklore. Sporting the appearance of a child cyclops, Boyclops is a member of the Charming tribe who focus on quick attacks. The members of the Charming tribe tend to have very cutesy designs – apt for the name.
Medal two – Pallysol/Karakasa-obake of the Heartful/Pokapoka tribe

Our second medal today is Pallysol who is based on the Kasa-Obake Yo-Kai – An umberella with one eye. My dislike for this Yo-Kai is the same as with Pokemon – I don’t like creatures like this when they are based off of household items or something ‘man-made’. Its the same with Pokemon and Digimon, I like the natural/animal type monsters.
I understand that this Yo-Kai, as with the others, is based on folklore but I find the concept a bit rubbish. But that’s just my opinion. Anyway, there will be more Yo-Kai to come so watch this space!
