Bandai Ultra Battlers

Now here is something that I’ve never seen before in the UK – Bandai Ultra Battlers. I picked this up from my local 7/11 in Songkhla and at the time I didn’t realise that its not strictly ‘blind’.

As you can see on the second image there is actually a tick on the box to show which set is included and in this case its set 12. I never saw this at the time but oh well! Whats done is done.. still technically ‘blind’ for me when i bought it!

The Cards
So what you get in the box is 2 figures & 2 trading cards. In this set (set 12) we have ‘Glenfire’ & ‘Mirror Knight’. Now apologies in advance if I’m mistaken here because I’m not very familiar with the Ultraman series but my understanding is that each pack contains 1 ‘Hero’ and 1 ‘Monster’ and from checking out the official website I believe Glenfire is the hero and Mirror Knight is the monster.

The Figures
The cards actually look alright but they do feel a bit low quality. On the back here you can see some stats and a QR code that you can use to watch clips from the TV show.

The figures are very basic. They have no paint and no articulation however the detail is pretty cool and for some reason I do find these actually pretty cool and kinda want some more! They remind me a bit of Monsters in my Pocket but made from harder plastic.

All in all I found this to be a pretty decent little set but I don’t know really if I would bother to pick any up again. They are meant to be used as part of a game, check out the video below to get an idea of how that works.
