Today we have a Marvel 500 series 3 blind bag! We have opened a few of the Marvel 500 series 2 blind bags so and so far I have been less than impressed (SPOILER ALERT: that doesn’t change today!). My expectations for these figures are unusually high for some reason, maybe that’s why they always disappoint me.. anyway today we have Marvel 500 series 3 Blizzard (Marvel’s Blizzard as he is known in this collection).

Blizzard is not a character that I am familiar with. He does quite good as a character but this figure could have been better. The white paint application is a bit hit and miss but the translucent blue body of the figure looks nice.
Where Blizzard falls down is in the head sculpt. It is obvious that Blizzard is a respray and that this sculpt was not designed for him. After doing a bit of research on Blizzard as a character he actually looks really cool. Unfortunately this figure does not do him any justice!
These Marvel 500 figures are very hit and miss (in my opinion). On one side, it is good that there is so many to collect in a single series. On the bad side though, it means that 50% of the characters have sculpts that aren’t intended for them.
I guess the characters who have specific sculpts are going to look better as a general rule. Personally I would like to see more paint application on these figures. If Hasbro decided to go down the route of using no paint at all then I would be cool with that. However, because they decide to use paint I just feel like it adds a cheapness to the figures as its not applied very well.
